Mineral & Land Services Manager, Joel Brown, brings a wealth of knowledge in the Oil and Gas industry to First International Bank & Trust. Joel is a Reservoir Engineer with extensive experience evaluating reserves and production potential in the Rocky Mountain Region, with a specialized focus on the Bakken. Joel, with his wife, Emily, is proud to be raising the sixth generation of his family to live in McKenzie County. Influenced by a long lineage of North Dakota oilfield workers, Joel graduated at the top of UND's Petroleum Engineering program's inaugural class in 2013.

Joel's broad industry experience began well before graduating from Watford City High School, working with his father and grandfather at the family business since he was a teenager. Joel has extensive experience designing and operating oil wells, and managing pipeline systems. However, he's spent most of his career on Acquisition & Divestment teams. Along with helping develop the only Bakken specific mineral tracking software, MineralTracker, Joel brings a strong understanding of reservoir potential and market trends to FIBT's Mineral and Land Services team. With his extensive experience, Joel provides mineral owners with a clear picture of their assets, ensuring mineral appraisals are accurate and defensible and, when mineral owners decide to sell, they receive a fair market value.

An active member of his community, Joel serves as the chair of the McKenzie County Job Development Authority, a board member of the Watford City Rough Rider Fund Committee, the Rough Rider Center Advisory Committee, and the Save the Maah Daah Hey Foundation.
